[WelMac] Purchasing my first iMac

Hi everyone,
The portables (laptops) all have international warranty for 12 months
no matter where you buy however, the desktop models do not.
This means you can buy a Macbook or Macbook Pro anywhere regardless of
your place of residence and have the free 12 months, Paltry, as John
says. In my view you should buy the extra extended warranty because of
the expensive cost of repair on any laptop. You can buy it at any time
during the first 12 months so if cash flow is an issue you have eleven
months to buy it after the purchase. Buy in the USA and save, you have
nothing to loose.
The same comment does not apply to desktops, as you have to consider
that the warranty is not international, unless that has changed. Check
with Apple as there was some talk of changing that. It is still
cheeper but the risk is also higher. You may have to pay shipping to
USA to get a desktop fixed under warranty.
MagnumMac is now owned by Renaissance the old Apple NZ distributor
with all that baggage. Three monkeys applied.
I brought a 17 Macbook Pro from Jens before he sold under the brand
ToshComputers this Auction is his latest sale under his own name
154010725
Look up his feed back from this auction
A little published fact, is that you can buy warranty from Apple on
any computer out of the warranty period for 12 month periods for a
higher cost. It is basically an insurance policy type product.
Hope these comments help.
Regards
Neil
