[WelMac] Vodafone Vodem software conflict issue!

A couple of people were dumped with the "discard all posts that aren't subscribed" policy and the "don't let people with signup from .ru or equivalent email hosts (runbox.com!) - so I'll repost. Brett, if you'd like a free email box @nzmac.org -- let me know!

Hi everyone
This is the first time i have posted to your forum - so thanks for the opportunity. I"m a new mac user - having switched at the end of 2006 from Windows to Mac once the Intels became available.
I'm wanting to know if any other mac users who use the Vodafone Vodem service have had any problems with it. I have used it since dec 2006. When it is working, it works well and i'm happy with the service - but on two occasions now it has just stopped working ( the red vodafone icon on the dock bounces but will not locate the vodem and the activation screen will not open). Has anyone else had this problem? Vodafone has tried to solve the problem but keep telling me that it is unique to my computer - which i don't believe - so i thought i'd do the obvious thing and ask around in NZ mac forums.
I finally had to take my computer to a mac specialist company here in AKL called "wired dog" who were great and got it going again - blaming Vodafone for poor mac support knowledge - which i suspect is true. The majority of Vodafones customers would be pc windows users - so they really don't care about their mac customers as we represent such a small part of the market.
I'm really hoping i might be able to prove them wrong by hearing from some of your members - fingers crossed!
