By default Mail will display small pdfs and images (one or two pages)
inline in the message, you can control-click (or right click) on the
displayed attachment and choose "view as icon" - but this setting
doesn't seem to stick.
A third party plugin that controls this is in a better way is:
<http://lokisw.com/index.php?lang=en&item=MailAttachmentsIconizer>
(ignore < and >'s)
Gives you a toolbar button to choose how you like it displayed.
This won't change the display at the other end - individual users
need to set their own viewing preferences.
Hope that helps.
PS: If anyone is in Wellington - we (the WelMac Social Subcommittee)
are holding a Meet and greet for people and their kids on Saturday in
Wellington at Turnbull House. The (young) kids get to watch a Pixar
movie while the rest of us socialise over good coffee - and look over
and get a "owner show and tell" about gadgets (phone, bluetooth, wifi
etc) and machines members have brought in.
Date: 23rd September
Time: 15:00 - 17:00 (start screening about 15:30)
Venue: Turnbull House, Bowen Street, Wellington
Kids bring a cushion - popcorn and other essential movie viewing
snacks will be supplied.
Parents and Grandparents (and all others!) bring you favourite mac
related story, gadget or a plate (or just yourself!)
No cost.
