Hiya Chris.. See this thread on the WelMac list:
(actually can't find it in the Archives.. but that was about when the  
server was down... )
Basically APple has the convertor on iTunes for Windows -- but not  
the mac one.  You could install Windows Media Playe ron you Mac, and  
try to convertt through that.. but iTunes does it ok -- on windows  
tho (or on Linux with Cedega / WineX or CrossOverOffice)
